Bible Thumping by RiffThirteen Bible Thumping by RiffThirteen
Well not so much political as religious...but here in America that line is getting dangerously blurred.

But aside from that all I have to say about this piece is, this is what it feel like to live as an atheist in America. I'm not doing myself any favors on this front by living in the south, but it wasn't that much different in the mid-west. Or maybe it was the same but I didn't notice it because I hadn't come to grips with my atheism until after I moved to Texas.

Good Luck. There are a lot of us out here. Religious people don't have a monopoly on supportative communities. ;)

Oh who are you kidding? The political/religious line doesn't exist anymore. Christ has his fingers in everything.
Can you imagine an atheist or agnostic person getting elected for anything in America? Let alone president?

Why do people not comment on this piece? I find it entertaining to some extent I also enjoy the visuals, reminds me of The Maxx.

It is the circular heads and "messy" style of the image that reminds me of it, the use of colors and general style of clothing also reminds me of it. Goddamn I wish I could delete my last message I have long since grown out of the child like belief of hating one purely based off how they choose to believe how humans came to exist.

No, I can understand. I am best called a "syncretist" and "non-theist" and I usually feel to say the least out of the loop. And most, I am tired of people accusing me of being the cause of everything in America (I could be called a pagan AND an atheist, so I feel like a double bill).

[link] is informatively depressing.

As a non realigious person -and one who thinks Jesus didn't die so we could sit for an hour and sing corny songs in Church- I think this is so awesome!!

Enh. I've lived in the Bible Belt all my life, and rarely if ever felt like that. There have been some people that indeed tried to shove religion down my throat...

However, there are just as many evangelical atheists that won't shut up about how there is no God and everyone that believes in him is an idiot as there are evangelical Christians that won't shut up about how great God is and how everyone that doesn't believe in him is a heathen.

Atheism as a whole has evolved into as much of a faith as an actual religion, and like any religion it has its share of pushy jerks.
